Our Training department is seeking a Bilingual Raising a Reader Program Coordinator to coordinate the program as well as deliver the Raising a Reader training to enrolled families with children ages birth to five. The Raising a Reader program’s primary purpose is to foster healthy brain development, parent-child bonding and early literacy skills critical for school success.
The Program Coordinator will support the Raising a Reader mission by assisting families to assess and prioritize strengths and needs, establish family goals, and develop reasonable steps and strategies for language and literacy development, and; based on their needs, goals, and strategies, will provide language and literacy development information and other family support services within the agency and out in the community.
The Program Coordinator will also be responsible for all management aspects of the program including planning and implementing strategies for growth and ongoing development of the program structure and funding to include: working with a wide variety of community organizations to become partnerships; providing leadership, direction and support on language and literacy development to program collaborators, funders and staff; researching funding sources and writing grants, and; monitoring program services, policies and procedures, and research in coordination with the Training Department Director.

Requirements:
BA/BS or MA in Early Childhood Education OR related education with any combination of either an emphasis in Early Childhood Education or Family Development.
Community outreach, knowledge of language and literacy development, prior supervisory or management experience and bilingual English/Spanish required.
